"Sustainable cannabinoids purification through twin-column recyclingchromatography and green solvents"

In the present study, twin-column recycling chromatography has been employed for the purification of a Cannabis extract by using a green solvent, ethanol, as the mobile phase. In particular, the complete removal of the psychoactive tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) from a Cannabis extract rich in cannabidiol (CBD) was achieved under continuous conditions.

2023

"Green cannabigerol purification through simulated moving bed chromatography"

In this work, CBG has been purified from a real cannabis extract by means of simulated moving bed chromatography. The proposed application is very promising, allowing to achieve a CBG extract free of tetrahydrocannabinol (a psychoactive cannabinoid) with 100% recovery and 97% final purity by using a faster and greener method if compared to traditionally used ones.

"Magnetic/flow controlled continuous size fractionation of magnetic nanoparticles using simulated moving bed chromatography"

Continuous size fractionation of magnetic particles with diameters between 80 and 1000 nm. Separation sharpness of 0.752. Yield of 99.9%. High space-time yield of 2.94 g/(L*h). KNAUER SMB systems were used for this research.

"Continuous fractionation of nanoparticles based on their magnetic properties applying simulated moving bed chromatography"

Classification of nanoparticles with similar size by using magnetic chromatography. Transfer of the process to a simulated moving bed chromatography. Contaminant-depletion up to 100%. KNAUER SMB systems were used for this research.
