With its AZURA® 862 bar (U)HPLC systems for laboratory analysis, KNAUER stands out positively thanks to sustainable production, durable, repairable, and recyclable components, as well as energy-efficient design and packaging with low environmental impact.
The liquid chromatography systems have already been awarded the ACT Ecolabel for this and are the best in their class. The particularly short analysis times achievable with UHPLC technology also ensure high separation performance and greatly reduced solvent consumption during operation.
The nomination underscores KNAUER's pioneering role in the field of environmentally friendly technologies for the laboratory and demonstrates how consistently the company combines long-standing ecological responsibility, quality, and customer benefits.
“We are delighted about the nomination for the DNP 2026! It confirms our commitment to creating sustainable solutions that make a real difference—not only for our customers, but also for the environment and society,” says Alexandra Knauer, Managing Director of KNAUER GmbH.
The announcement of the nomination by the company coincides with the annual KNAUER Sustainability Week held with employees. This year's events include a presentation on KNAUER's measures to reduce so-called "eternal chemicals" (PFAS) and an information session to introduce the company's numerous family-friendly offerings. On Monday, the theme was “getting to work with as little CO₂ as possible,” and on Tuesday, a workshop on sustainable gardening and installing nesting boxes in the company garden was offered. On Wednesday, a cross-departmental working group spent three hours discussing sustainability at KNAUER and developing proposals for management.

The German Sustainability Award (DNP) ceremony will take place during the congress of the same name on December 4 and 5, 2025, in Düsseldorf. The DNP is Europe's largest award for ecological and social commitment and is being held for the 18th time this year.
