KNAUER has found that the fraction collector Foxy R2 can move to position 1 during fraction collection into another vial position. This can happen under very special circumstances if the fraction collector is controlled by software. The position move will not be detected by the software; therefore, it will not be stored in the rack file. The found behaviour is no software issue and independent from the used software.
To prevent such behaviour, it is recommended to change in the injection menu of the fraction collector the setting to “None”, using the fractions collectors touch panel. The illustration below shows the way how to change the setting. Although the issue was only found with the Foxy R2, KNAUER recommends also to setup the Foxy R1 in the mentioned way.
