We offer modules for organic and for aqueous GPC/SEC applications. The choice of materials is essential for GPC/SEC due to the often aggressive nature of the solvents. Here we have configured a system for molecular weight distribution determination with RI detection that can be further extended according to user requirements.

The heart of this configuration is the high precision normal phase isocratic pump P 6.1L (APH30ED). Together with the NP compatible external degasser (A5335) it produces a steady baseline that is essential for the molecular weight distribution determination. As detector the AZURA RID (ADD31) is used. We have put a great deal of thought into optimizing our RI detector, with a focus on increasing the detector performance using organic solvents. However, our GPC/SEC systems can also be configured to use a UV/Vis detector (single, multi wavelength or diode array).

KNAUER also affords customers the flexibility to extend their GPC/SEC systems with autosamplers, valves, feed pumps, and column thermostats. In fact, many GPC runs are conducted at higher temperatures (<60°C), so the AZURA column thermostat CT 2.1 (ATC00) is of great interest.
