KNAUER team takes part in the Berlin “Velothon” bike race this summer

The roadmap for the health project was worked out at the first meeting of the KNAUER team "Gesundheit" ("health") was worked out in January.

As part of the festivities commemorating its 50th year in business, KNAUER promotes employee health.

The traditional Velothon bike race through Berlin will be joined this year for the first time by a team of cyclists from KNAUER. To ensure that the participants are at the required level of physical fitness in time for the race, KNAUER, in cooperation with Siemens Betriebskrankenkasse (SBK - a German health insurance company), is offering a training program in a fitness studio. The cycling course is actually part of a comprehensive program established by KNAUER to promote the health of its employees. Since KNAUER is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012, the company would like to thank its employees and give them an incentive to stay healthy. This is why KNAUER has decided to join with SBK to launch the project entitled “Lust for Health”.

Together with Dr. Alexander Bünz, she heads the Berlin, Germany based company. KNAUER is a technology leader among manufacturers of laboratory instruments for chromatography and has been active on the world market for 50 years. The company currently employs 110 workers.
The “Lust for Health” project was initiated in January 2012 by a team of 8 KNAUER employees and Sabrina Kollek from SBK. The team has been hard at work organizing various events to take place throughout 2012. KNAUER employees can look forward to benefiting from presentations on health, as well as events such as salad days, the Velothon bike race, relaxation exercises, flu shots, Badminton games and a seminar on stress management. The group will meet at the end of every quarter to evaluate progress and employee participation. At the end of the first project year, 7 KNAUER employees who participate in the most events will win a voucher for a cooking event (valued at 50 Euro). Each winner will be allowed to bring along one colleague from KNAUER.
