KNAUER Advanced Scientific Instruments

KNAUER Smartline Systems
for Amino Acid Analysis

KNAUER offers complete modular systems for the OPA and FMOC precolumn derivatization methods. They feature latest HPLC and automation technology.

Modular Systems for Precolumn Derivatization with Fluorescent Markers

Fluorescent markers such as OPA, FMOC, PITC, dansyl Cl, or NBD Cl can be used for precolumn derivatization of free amino acids for increased sensitivity compared to the classic method. The resulting derivatives are separated with a binary gradient on a reversed phase column. Protein hydrolysates can be analyzed reliably, as well as physiological fluids. KNAUER offers modular amino acid analyzer systems and application support for the OPA and FMOC precolumn derivatization techniques. Systems for other techniques are available upon request.
