High resolution biochromatography Bioline systems and columns

Today's biochromatography applications demand fast and precise separations. Meeting these demands however, is not as easy as it sounds. High resolution and speed require higher flow rates, which in turn lead to higher pressure - sometimes up to 50 and 100 bar.

High demands: If you need to work with pressure resistant packing materials for high resolution separations, you will also need columns designed for high pressures, as well as a reliable, easy to use chromatography system. Both components must also be completely biocompatible. This combination has as of yet not been common.

Complete: One solution is the Bioline System featuring high resolution glass columns composed of biocompatible materials and a suitable agarose media. Our pressure resistant agarose media has a very narrow pore size distribution of 17 ± 1 µm and can handle up to 80 bar. High flow rates for faster separations are therefore not a problem anymore. Worries about whether the media can withstand it all - whether the particles collapse or the column will be damaged - are a thing of the past. The KNAUER Bioline System with high resolution glass columns is guaranteed to withstand pressures up to 100 bar.

Thermostattable: A thermostatic column jacket for temperatures from 4°C to 60°C makes special applications, such as the purification of native enzymes, possible.

Biocompatible: Only biocompatible materials are used for all wetted parts, making the Bioline Start System resistant to all common buffer solutions. With all these features, Bioline systems and columns leave hardly anything to be desired.
