KNAUER soccer team competes in the German Company’s Cup 2009
The German Company’s Cup is a competition to find the best company soccer team and, at the same time, a charity event to raise funds for SOS Children’s Villages, an aid organization which focuses on supporting children and orphans worldwide.
After just missing out on the quarter-finals last year, the KNAUER team improved significantly this year.
Thanks to the efforts of every member of the team, KNAUER achieved 4th place and just barely missed the opportunity to stand on the winners’ pedestal.

The KNAUER soccer team (left to right): Thomas Köplin, Florian Schneider, Thomas Müller, Peter Fleischer, Patrick Jäckel, Gerd Müller, Torsten Jäckel, Ernesto Kubsch, Norman Gohlke.
Team Captain Ernesto Kubsch led the team by rushing through all of the group matches and held off competitors to remain unbeaten until the semi-finals. Only until then did two technically superior teams manage to stop our team from advancing to the finals.
Congratulations to the athletes!
